injury rehabilitation
Know safety, no injury. No safety, know injury.
Raising children and managing a busy household, alongside paid employment and looking after yourself - life's busy enough without adding the complexity of an injury!
A sore thumb, wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, neck, back, hips, knees, ankles - any or all of these seemingly 'minor' injuries can greatly limit your ability to get through your daily routine and keep the kids organised.
You may have injured yourself while looking after your baby/ies, kids (or both!) - and are now finding it near impossible to keep them washed, fed, clothed, and safe in the car, without hurting yourself further.
Your child may have sustained an injury and be struggling to do the activities that they used to be able to do (dress, shower, go to the toilet, eat, get in and out of the bed or car).
The good news is that there may be government-funded support to help with recovery - and preventing further injury from occurring.
POP Occupational Therapy will help you find strategies and routines to keep looking after your family whilst recovering from your injury. This can look like:
coaching to improve your ergonomics (how you move your body through daily tasks) - e.g. washing, feeding, changing and carrying baby or a toddler with a wrist or back injury
teaching your child new skills to look after themselves, to lighten your load
reviewing your house set-up and seeing what other tips and tricks might make the recovery journey easier
build knowledge around body mechanics, behaviour strategies and injury prevention so you can get on with living life, pain-free
Occupational Therapy is the perfect complement to Physiotherapy exercise recommendations - get in touch today.
